Excellium AlMg5Cr (5356) is a solid MIG wire designed for welding aluminium-magnesium alloys with magnesium content up to 5%. The wire offers excellent resistance to marine corrosion and superior mechanical properties compared to lower magnesium content alternatives, making it ideal for demanding applications in shipbuilding, transport, and automotive sectors.

  • Excellent resistance to corrosion in saline environments
  • Very good mechanical properties with superior hot crack resistance
  • Suitable for materials intended for anodising, retaining colour similar to work piece
  • Approved by DNV, ABS, DB, VdTÜV, Bureau Veritas, and Germanisher Lloyd
  • Requires 100% Argon, 100% Helium, or Argon/Helium mix at 14 to 24 l/min gas protection
