Description
SIFMIG 4043 – Aluminium MIG Wire – 1.6 mm x 6.5 Kg
SIFMIG 4043 is an Aluminium MIG wire alloyed with 5% silicon, designed to provide excellent flow characteristics and penetration. This precision layer-wound wire ensures positive uninterrupted feeding, making it suitable for gas-shielded MIG welding on both semi-automated and fully-automated systems.
Features & Benefits:
- 5% Silicon Alloy: Offers enhanced flow characteristics and deep penetration.
- Precision Layer-Wound: Ensures consistent and uninterrupted feeding during the welding process.
- Versatile Applications: Suitable for welding duralumin, cast, and wrought alloys.
- Discolouration Note: The resulting weld may discolour if subjected to anodising.
Common Applications:
- Duralumin Welding: Ideal for welding duralumin materials.
- Alloy Welding: Suitable for welding cast and wrought alloys such as 6063 (H9), 6061 (H20), and 6082 (H30).
- 4 Series Aluminium: Can be used for welding other 4 series aluminium materials.
- Anodising: It’s important to note that the weld will discolour if anodised.
Material To Be Welded
Suitable for welding duralumin, cast and wrought alloys 6063 (H9), 6061 (H20) and 6082(H30), as well as other 4 series aluminium. The resulting weld will discolour if anodised.
Pre-heating up to 120 degC may be necessary, subject to material size and thickness. Wire brushing between passes is recommended, to remove build up of surface oxides.
Ensure that the parent metal surface is cleaned and fully degreased prior to welding. Clean joints with a stainless steel brush.
