Description
SIFMIG 4043 – Aluminium MIG Wire – 1 mm x 6.5 Kg
SIFMIG 4043 Aluminium MIG Wire, with a diameter of 1.0mm and weighing 6.5 Kg, is an aluminium alloy wire containing 5% silicon. This composition provides excellent flow characteristics and penetration, making it suitable for welding various aluminium materials, including duralumin and specific wrought alloys. The weld produced with this wire may discolour if anodised.
Key Features:
- Silicon Content: Contains 5% silicon, enhancing flow characteristics and penetration.
- Precision Layer Wound: Ensures positive uninterrupted feeding, making it ideal for both semi-automated and fully-automated welding systems.
Common Applications:
SIFMIG 4043 Aluminium MIG Wire is ideal for:
- Welding duralumin.
- Welding cast and wrought alloys like 6063 (H9), 6061 (H20), and 6082 (H30).
- Welding other 4 series aluminium.
- Suitable for projects where the resulting weld may be anodised, though it will discolour in such cases.
Material To Be Welded
Suitable for welding duralumin, cast and wrought alloys 6063 (H9), 6061 (H20) and 6082(H30), as well as other 4 series aluminium. The resulting weld will discolour if anodised.
Pre-heating up to 120 degC may be necessary, subject to material size and thickness. Wire brushing between passes is recommended, to remove build up of surface oxides.
Ensure that the parent metal surface is cleaned and fully degreased prior to welding. Clean joints with a stainless steel brush.
