Description
SIFMIG 4043 – Aluminium MIG Wire – 0.8 mm x 6.5 Kg
SIFMIG 4043 Aluminium MIG Wire, with a diameter of 0.8mm, is an aluminium alloy containing 5% silicon. This composition provides excellent flow characteristics and penetration, making it suitable for welding various materials, including Duralumin, cast and wrought alloys like 6063 (H9), 6061 (H20), and 6082 (H30). Notably, the weld produced using this wire will discolour if subjected to anodising. The wire is precision layer-wound, ensuring positive and uninterrupted feeding, making it ideal for both semi-automated and fully-automated gas-shielded MIG welding systems.
Key Features:
- Aluminium alloy wire with 5% silicon for enhanced flow and penetration.
- Precision layer-wound for consistent and uninterrupted feeding.
- Suitable for both semi-automated and fully-automated MIG welding systems.
- Welds produced may discolour upon anodising.
Common Applications:
SIFMIG 4043 Aluminium MIG Wire is versatile and can be used for:
- Welding Duralumin.
- Welding cast and wrought alloys like 6063 (H9), 6061 (H20), and 6082 (H30).
- Welding other 4 series aluminium materials.
Material To Be Welded
Suitable for welding duralumin, cast and wrought alloys 6063 (H9), 6061 (H20) and 6082(H30), as well as other 4 series aluminium. The resulting weld will discolour if anodised.
Pre-heating up to 120 degC may be necessary, subject to material size and thickness. Wire brushing between passes is recommended, to remove build up of surface oxides.
Welding Positions
Ensure that the parent metal surface is cleaned and fully degreased prior to welding. Clean joints with a stainless steel brush.
