Description
Sifmig 5556 Aluminium Welding MIG Wire – 1.2 mm x 0.5 Kg
Sifmig 5556 is an aluminium alloy MIG wire containing 5.3% Magnesium, 0.8% Manganese, and other closely controlled elements. This alloy is designed to produce a weld metal with higher strength than the standard 5% Mg 5356 alloy. It’s particularly suitable for welding 5083 (N8) alloy, which is widely used in structural applications. This wire is especially recommended for military applications where maintaining full strength is crucial.
Features and Benefits:
- Optimized Composition: Contains 5.3% Magnesium and a standard 0.8% Manganese for enhanced weld strength.
- Higher Strength: Produces a stronger weld metal compared to the standard 5% Mg 5356 alloy.
- Versatility: Ideal for welding 5083 (N8) alloy, a material commonly used in structural applications.
Common Applications:
- Welding of 5083 (N8) alloy
- Military applications where maintaining full strength is essential
- Structural applications
Welding Positions
Ensure that the parent metal surface is cleaned and fully degreased prior to welding. Clean joints with a stainless steel brush.
