Description
316L Stainless Steel TIG Rods – 1.6 mm x 5 Kg
Weld Star – 316L Stainless Steel TIG Rods – 1.6 mm x 5 Kg is an austenitic stainless steel wire with a low carbon content. This unique composition reduces the possibilities of intergranular carbide precipitation, enhancing its resistance to intergranular corrosion without the need for stabilizers. The presence of molybdenum further provides creep resistance in halide atmospheres.
Features and Benefits:
- Enhanced Corrosion Resistance: Low carbon content and the presence of molybdenum ensure superior resistance to intergranular corrosion.
- Versatility in Welding: Ideal for joining and surfacing of stainless steels of similar composition, including low-carbon molybdenum-bearing austenitic alloys.
- Diverse Applications: Commonly used in industries such as food processing, dairy, and chemical processing.
Common Applications:
- Food Processing: Ensures safe and hygienic welds for equipment handling food products.
- Dairy Industry: Provides corrosion-resistant welds for equipment exposed to dairy products.
- Chemical Processing: Used in equipment and components that handle various chemicals, ensuring longevity and durability.
