Weld Star – ER 2209 is a high tensile strength Austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel wire. It is specifically designed to offer excellent resistance to stress corrosion, cracking, and pitting. This wire is ideal for joining 22% Cr duplex stainless steel base materials, commonly referred to as 2205. The unique composition of this wire ensures that the ferrite content of the weld metal remains lower than the ferrite content of the base metals. It is recommended for operations within a temperature range from cryogenic levels up to 300°C.
