Description
Weld Star – Alloy 617 (NiCrCoMo-1) TIG (3.2mm) 5kg
Weld Star – Alloy 617 (NiCrCoMo-1) is a high-temperature wire designed for welding nickel-chromium-cobalt-molybdenum alloys. It’s ideal for overlay cladding where a similar alloy is required and is perfect for joining dissimilar alloys that demand high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance up to about 1150°C. This alloy is commonly used in the aerospace and power generation industries, including petrochemical plants for specific applications like nitric acid catalyst grids. It complies with the EN ISO 18274 and AWS A5.14 welding standards.
Features and Benefits:
- High-Temperature Welding: Designed for welding nickel-chromium-cobalt-molybdenum alloys, ensuring durable welds in high-temperature applications.
- Overlay Cladding: Ideal for gas turbines and ethylene equipment where a similar alloy overlay is required, providing a protective layer against wear and corrosion.
- Dissimilar Alloy Joining: Suitable for joining different alloys that require high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance, ensuring versatile welding applications.
- Oxidation Resistance: Offers protection up to about 1150°C, ensuring the longevity of welds in high-temperature environments.
Common Applications:
- Aerospace Industry: Used in aircraft components that require high-temperature resistance.
- Power Generation Industry: Ideal for components in power plants that operate under high temperatures.
- Petrochemical Plants: Suitable for applications like nitric acid catalyst grids, ensuring corrosion resistance in aggressive environments.
