SIFMIG 8 is a phosphor bronze MIG wire with a CuSn6P composition containing 7% tin, designed for welding copper alloys, phosphor bronze castings, and brass. It is also widely used for MIG brazing on ferrous, stainless, and dissimilar metals, as well as for applying wear-resistant bearing surfaces.

The wire is weldable in all positions and is particularly useful for repairs in hard-to-reach areas. Typical applications include crack repair in bronze castings, wear-resistant overlays, and joining copper-based alloys. When welding on lead-containing bronzes such as LG2, staged passes with grinding between each are recommended to minimise porosity.

SIFMIG 8 produces a tensile strength of 260 N/mm², a hardness of 80 BHN, and has a melting range of 900–1050°C. It operates on DC+ polarity with pure argon or Ar/CO₂ shielding gas and is available in 0.8mm, 1.0mm, and 1.2mm diameters on 0.7kg, 4.0kg, and 12.5kg spools.
