TAG Prep 3 Pneumatic Portable Pipe Bevelling Machine
The Prep 3 is a highly popular i/d locking, inline feed end prep machine in our product range. It boasts an exceptional power-to-weight ratio, whether in electric (110V or 220V) or pneumatic drive form, making it unmatched in performance.
Equipped with a 4-jaw tool holder (chuck), the Prep 3 allows for the utilization of up to 4 insert or form tools, enabling efficient bevelling of heavy wall pipes and tubes. This versatile tool holder enables simultaneous external, internal, and facing operations on tubes, streamlining the process of accurate and repetitive work.
Thanks to its optimal size, power, and functionality, the Prep 3 has gained significant popularity in high-volume boiler repair and maintenance work. The PREP 3 is torque reactive. This means that the pipe or tube does not have to be fixed to be bevelled, making it particularly useful on-site, in maintenance and repair situations. This is due to the design and strength of the thru shaft system that locks to the bore of the pipe.
Features & Advantages
The Prep 3 utilizes a jaw system consisting of three equilaterally positioned machined jaw segments. These segments are retained and locked on an inner grooved expansion shaft. The grooves play a crucial role in securely holding the jaws in place, distinguishing it from other systems that rely on metal or rubber bands for jaw retention. When the expansion nut is tightened, the jaws expand, locking tightly and ensuring a square fit to the bore of the pipe.
Every unit of the Prep 3 is supplied with all the necessary gripping segments, covering the full range of the machine. Additionally, service tools, drawings, an instruction manual, and a warranty certificate are included as standard.
To provide convenience and protection, each machine is supplied with a protective metal carrying case.
For optimal performance of our pneumatic models, we strongly recommend using a portable filter lubricator.
