Description
Sifmig 8 MIG Brazing Wire – 1.0 mm x 4 Kg
The Sifmig 8 is a phosphor bronze wire enriched with 7% tin. It’s specifically designed for fusion welding of phosphor bronze castings, copper alloys, and brass. Additionally, it’s suitable for MIG brazing on a variety of metals, including ferrous, stainless, and dissimilar metals. This wire is also employed to apply a bearing surface, providing a wear-resistant layer on surfaces prone to abrasion.
Key Features:
- Phosphor Bronze with Tin: Contains 7% tin, enhancing its welding capabilities.
- Versatility: Suitable for MIG brazing on various metals and for applying bearing surfaces.
- Crack Repair: Ideal for repairing cracks in castings and enhancing wear resistance on surfaces.
Applications & Recommendations:
- Welding & Brazing: Perfect for fusion welding of phosphor bronze castings, copper alloys, and brass.
- Bearing Surface: Can be used to apply a bearing surface on different metals.
- Lead Containing Metals: When the parent metal has trace amounts of lead (e.g., LG2), it’s recommended to apply SIFMIG 8 in stages. Grinding between passes is essential to eliminate lead from the joint and minimize porosity.
