Elmer Wallace Polar-Flux Welding Back-Up Paste 500 g

Polar-Flux Welding Back-up Paste is a root-side barrier flux painted onto the reverse of the joint. It protects the weld root from oxidation, prevents oxide inclusion formation, supports the molten metal and reduces burn-through. The manufacturer positions it as a more cost-effective means of achieving backside protection than back-up bars, an inert gas purge, back-up tape or other back-up fluxes, so it can be used instead of, or to reduce, a gas back purge.
