Description
AS300 – E307 Austenitic Stainless Steel Electrode – 2.5mm x 4.5Kg
AS300 – E307 is an austenitic, rutile-coated electrode designed for joining and overlaying steels and Manganese steels. It’s versatile and can also be used for joining dissimilar steels, such as construction steel to stainless steel, and for cushion layers before hard facing. This electrode serves as a wear-facing solution against severe impact, producing a work-hardening deposit. It’s non-magnetic and is suitable for welding low to medium carbon steels, austenitic manganese, tool steels, construction steels, and stainless steel to itself or mild steel.
Features & Benefits:
- Rutile-Coated: Ensures smooth welding and a consistent arc.
- Versatile: Suitable for joining and overlaying various steel types.
- Wear Facing: Acts as a protective layer against severe impact.
- Work-Hardening Deposit: Enhances the durability and longevity of the weld.
- Non-Magnetic: Ideal for applications where magnetic interference is a concern.
Common Applications:
- Civil Engineering: For structures and equipment that require durable and corrosion-resistant welds.
- Railways: Suitable for train components and tracks.
- Cement Works: Ideal for machinery and equipment in cement factories.
- Digger Buckets & Crusher Jaws: Provides wear resistance against constant friction and impact.
Weld with a short arc and a slight inclination. Do not pre-heat Manganese steel due to sensitivity to hot cracking
Rebake at 300°C for I hour, should this be required
