Description
4043A Aluminium TIG Rods – 5 mm x 2.5 Kg
4043A Aluminium TIG Rods are aluminium alloy rods enhanced with 5% silicon, providing exceptional flow characteristics and penetration. These rods can be utilized in both TIG and Oxy Acetylene welding processes. When used in Oxy Acetylene, it’s recommended to pair with Sif No. 36 Aluminium brazing and welding flux. They are suitable for welding duralumin, cast (LM25), and wrought alloys like 6063 (H9), 6061 (H20), and 6082 (H30). However, the weld may discolour if subjected to anodising.
Features and Benefits:
- High Silicon Content: Contains 5% silicon, ensuring smooth flow and excellent penetration.
- Versatile Welding: Can be used in both TIG and Oxy Acetylene welding.
- Compatibility: Suitable for welding duralumin, cast, and specific wrought alloys.
- Preparation Recommendations: Pre-heating up to 120°C might be required depending on the material size and thickness. It’s advised to wire brush between passes to eliminate surface oxide accumulation.
Common Applications:
- Duralumin Welding: Ideal for welding duralumin materials.
- Cast and Wrought Alloys: Suitable for welding cast (LM25) and wrought alloys like 6063 (H9), 6061 (H20), and 6082 (H30).
Pre-heating up to 120oC may be necessary, subject to material size and thickness. Wire brushing between passes is recommended, to remove build up of surface oxides.
