Description
SIFMIG Aluminium MIG Wire 5183 – 1.0 mm x 6.5 Kg
SIFMIG Aluminium MIG Wire 5183 is a special aluminium alloy solid MIG wire containing 5% Magnesium and 0.75% Manganese. This unique composition enhances the wire’s weld strength and offers resistance to sea water. It’s designed for applications demanding high tensile strengths and/or high resistance to sea water. Pre-heating up to 120°C may be necessary, depending on the material size and thickness. To ensure optimal welding results, wire brushing between passes is recommended to remove surface oxide build-up.
Key Features:
- Contains 5% Magnesium and 0.75% Manganese.
- Offers improved weld strength.
- Resistant to sea water.
- Suitable for DC =+ current.
- Shielded with Argon or Argon/Helium gases.
Common Applications:
- Shipbuilding
- Pressure vessel fabrications
- General construction
- Scenarios where high tensile strengths and/or high resistance to sea water are essential.
Materials to be Welded:
- Forged and cast aluminium-manganese
- Aluminium-manganese alloys
