Description
SIFMIG 4043 – Aluminium MIG Wire – 0.8 mm x 0.5 Kg
SIFMIG 4043 is an aluminium MIG wire alloyed with 5% silicon, which provides excellent flow characteristics and penetration. The precision layer winding ensures positive and uninterrupted feeding, making it suitable for both semi-automated and fully-automated welding systems. This wire is particularly effective for welding duralumin, certain cast and wrought alloys, and other 4 series aluminium. However, it’s important to note that the resulting weld will discolour if anodised.
Features and Benefits:
- Silicon Infused: Contains 5% silicon, enhancing flow characteristics and penetration.
- Precision Layer Wound: Ensures smooth and uninterrupted feeding, suitable for automated systems.
- Versatile Use: Ideal for welding duralumin, specific aluminium alloys, and other 4 series aluminium.
Common Applications:
- Welding duralumin.
- Welding cast and wrought alloys such as 6063 (H9), 6061 (H20), and 6082 (H30).
Material To Be Welded
Suitable for welding duralumin, cast and wrought alloys 6063 (H9), 6061 (H20) and 6082(H30), as well as other 4 series aluminium. The resulting weld will discolour if anodised.
Pre-heating up to 120 degC may be necessary, subject to material size and thickness. Wire brushing between passes is recommended, to remove build up of surface oxides.
Ensure that the parent metal surface is cleaned and fully degreased prior to welding. Clean joints with a stainless steel brush.
