SIF Aluminium TIG Filler Rods - 4043A 5% Silicon (ER 4043A) - 1.6mm to 5mm Dia.

4043A Aluminium TIG Rods are aluminium alloy rods enhanced with 5% silicon, providing exceptional flow characteristics and penetration. These rods can be utilised in both TIG and Oxy Acetylene welding processes. When used in Oxy Acetylene welding, it’s recommended to pair with Sif No. 36 Aluminium brazing and welding flux.

These rods are suitable for welding duralumin, cast (LM25), and wrought alloys like 6063 (H9), 6061 (H20), and 6082 (H30). However, the weld may discolour if subjected to anodising.

Pre-heating up to 120°C may be necessary, subject to material size and thickness. Wire brushing between passes is recommended, to remove build up of surface oxides.

Welding Positions

Ensure that the parent metal surface is cleaned and fully degreased prior to welding. Clean joints with a stainless steel brush.
