Grey-tip 2% Ceriated TIG welding tungsten electrodes conforming to ANSI/AWS A5.12-92 and BS EN ISO 6848:2015. Alloyed with approximately 2% ceria (a non-radioactive rare earth element), these all-purpose electrodes offer excellent arc starting at low current, greater arc stability than pure tungsten, and higher current carrying capacity with no spitting. Suitable for AC or DC electrode negative operation.
The cerium electrodes work well with advanced square wave power sources and should be ground to a modified point. Not recommended for higher-current applications where tip overheating may reduce the benefits of ceria.
